a prayer
Jesus,
Be near to my eyes,
that I may see thee in all things
and see all things in thee.
Be near to my ears,
that I may hear thy whisper in the wind,
thy word in the chatter of little birds.
Be near to my mouth,
that I may speak thy life into this world,
thy love and peace to stony hearts.
Lord Jesus,
Be near to me.
Thou in me, and I in thee.
That your kingdom
nearer to earth may be.
